The Family Planning Association of Moldova (FPAM), with technical assistance from Jhpiego, implemented a training strategy to conduct a series of 25 6-day multimethod contraceptive technology update (CTU) workshops. These workshops were designed to standardize and improve the FP knowledge and counseling skills of approximately 400 obstetricians/gynecologists. In 1998, JHPIEGO and FPAM, with assistance from the MOH and USAID/Kiev, conducted an evaluation to assess provider knowledge and stated practices before and after the CTUs and to demonstrate that FP knowledge updates were a relevant intervention. This report presents the results of the evaluation.
