This report highlights the key findings from the implementation of the SUMATA initiative in two districts supported by the Maternal and Neonatal Health Program in Nepal.The SUMATA (a Nepali acronym for "Care, Share, and Prepare") initiative is an integrated information, education, communication/behavior change communication intervention launched in 2002 to promote adoption of appropriate maternal and newborn health behaviors, and to increase access to and use of safe motherhood services.
